    De rohu (Labeo rohita) is een populaire zoetwatervis die veel voorkomt in Zuid-Aziatische wateren, met name in rivieren en meren. Hier is een eenvoudig recept voor het bereiden van Rohu-vis:

    Gebakken Rohu-vis:

    Ingrediënten:

    • 500 gram Rohu-visfilet (ontschubd en schoongemaakt)
    • 1 theelepel kurkumapoeder
    • 1 theelepel rode chilipoeder
    • 1 theelepel komijnpoeder
    • Zout naar smaak
    • 2 eetlepels mosterdolie (of een andere plantaardige olie)
    • Citroensap naar smaak
    • Verse koriander (voor garnering)

    Instructies:

    1. Spoel de Rohu-visfilets grondig af onder koud stromend water.

    2. Dep de vis droog met keukenpapier en maak een paar ondiepe insnijdingen aan beide zijden van de vis.

    3. Meng kurkumapoeder, rode chilipoeder, komijnpoeder en zout tot een pasta. Wrijf deze kruidenpasta gelijkmatig over de visfilets en laat het een tijdje marineren.

    4. Verhit de mosterdolie in een pan op middelhoog vuur. Als de olie begint te roken, zet dan het vuur lager en voeg voorzichtig de gemarineerde vis toe.

    5. Bak de vis aan beide zijden goudbruin en gaar. Zorg ervoor dat de vis niet te veel aan de pan blijft plakken.

    6. Besprenkel de gebakken vis met citroensap en garneer met verse koriander.

    7. Serveer de gebakken Rohu-vis warm met rijst of naanbrood.
