    Puli Pitha is a traditional Bengali sweet rice dumpling, popular in Bangladesh and West Bengal, especially during winter and harvest festivals.

    Description

    Puli pitha is made from rice flour dough, shaped into small oval or crescent dumplings, and filled with a sweet mixture of grated coconut and jaggery (or sugar), often flavored with cardamom.

    The dumplings are usually:

    • Boiled in milk (for Dudh Puli), or

    • Steamed or lightly fried, then soaked in sweet syrup or milk.
