Product Description

Premium Big Brass Aarti Deepak (Ceremonial Handle Lamp)

The Big Brass Aarti Deepak is a majestic and essential ritual tool used for performing Aarti—the highest form of Hindu worship involving the circular movement of a lighted lamp before a deity. Crafted from heavy-gauge, high-quality brass, this large-sized deepak is designed for grandeur, durability, and ease of use during temple ceremonies or elaborate home festivals.

Key Features

  • Substantial Size & Weight: Standing significantly larger than standard daily lamps, the "Big Size" (typically 8 to 12 inches in length) provides a commanding presence and stable flame.

  • Ergonomic "Snake" or "Garuda" Handle: Features a long, heat-resistant handle—often beautifully carved in the shape of a cobra (Naga) or a floral vine—allowing the devotee to perform the Aarti safely without the heat reaching the hand.

  • Multi-Wick Capacity: Usually designed with 5, 7, or 11 deep notches (steps) to hold multiple cotton wicks, creating a brilliant "crown of fire" that illuminates the entire sanctum.

  • High-Luster Mirror Finish: Polished to a brilliant golden glow, it reflects the light of the flames, doubling the radiance during evening prayers.

  • Sturdy Base Pedestal: Includes a firm, weighted bottom so the lamp can be safely placed on the altar or floor after the ceremony without tipping.

Symbolic Significance

  • The Five Elements: The five wicks of a traditional big deepak represent the five elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether—offered back to the Creator.

  • Removal of Darkness: The large, bright flame symbolizes the destruction of ignorance (Agyana) and the awakening of spiritual light (Jyoti).

  • Focus & Devotion: The rhythmic movement of the heavy brass lamp helps the practitioner synchronize their physical movement with their internal devotion.

Care & Maintenance

  1. Cleaning Ghee Residue: After the ritual, wipe away excess ghee while the brass is still slightly warm (not hot) using a dry cloth.

  2. Restoring the Shine: Use Pitambari powder or a traditional mix of Tamarind and Salt. This will remove the black carbon marks caused by the flames.

  3. Handle Care: If the handle is attached with a screw, ensure it is tightened periodically to maintain a safe, firm grip during the waving motion.

Usage Tip

For a grander effect and a cleaner burn, use Phool Batti (flower-shaped wicks) soaked in high-quality camphor-infused ghee. This produces a steady, fragrant flame that lasts throughout the entire Bhajan or Aarti session.
